I worked with Joanne for a couple of years at the front desk of social development. She always had the oldies radio going, and truly never judged anyone. She treated everyone with dignity and respect no matter who you were or what you'd been through.
Fast forward a few years and she is my mother in laws neighbor, I loved, LOVED, seeing Joanne outside working in her yard, or being so excited to go for a bike ride with Eldon.
Joanne was one of those people who never skipped a beat when you saw her. She was a bright light, who brought a smile to everyones face. I'll miss you Joanne.

Aunt Joanne will always have a special place in my heart. I have fond memories of her as a young boy, taking the time to knit me a beautiful sweater by hand, or at Christmas time wrapping up a disco album with the center of paper towel roll to throw me off (and it did!). Her infectious laugh and bright smile would light up a room. She had patience to spare. Rest easy Joanne and know you left a mark on so many of us who were fortunate enough to be around you. Love you. xo.

Eldon, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know Joanne well but what I do know is how much you love her, how dedicated you have always been to her and her to you. To have had that blessing for so many years far outshines life without her. I believe you know that she will always be with you. To the family and friends of Joanne, she was one of the nicest ladies I've ever met. She was so kind to me and I never felt judged by her every time I went to Social Development to pick up my cheque each month or any appointments I had. She always took the time to ask me how I was and I felt she genuinely cared.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I imagine Joanne had a huge impact on many people over the years who will never forget her kindness. You are all in my thoughts and may she rest in peace for eternity
