Obituary of Phyllis Weston

On March 22, 2026, our mother Phyllis Linda (Brown) Weston, wife of the Late Lester Weston left this earthly world to be with her Lord and Saviour, surrounded by her loving family at home on the Bay of Fundy in the Village of St. Martins, the community she loved so dearly.

Born on May 21, 1940, to the late William Everett and late Mildred Nettie (Black) Brown. She cherished many wonderful memories of her early life in Fairview with her Mother, Maternal Grandparents and Uncle Walter, before moving to St. Martins after her father returned home from his service overseas. Mom married our Dad on November 26, 1960, and began the biggest adventure of her life, raising their five children: Suzanne (Bradley) Brown, Rodney (Dawn) Weston, Geoffrey (Sherry) Weston, Leanne (Dana) Noftell, and Bruce (Kyla) Weston.

Mom lived her life in St. Martins for St. Martins, her world revolved around her family, church and community. She was instrumental in many community events and organizations, if there was something going on in the community she had to be there.

Over the years Mom held many roles in her work-life, Bank Teller, Store Owner/Manager, School Bus Driver and following in her mother’s footsteps as the postmistress. Her real passion though was her volunteer interests. Old Home Week as a founding member and treasurer until a year ago (But don’t tell her that she was no longer the treasurer), Chair of the St. Martins Ambulance committee, dispatcher for the St. Martins Fire and Ambulance Departments and several positions within the St. Martins Baptist Church over the years. Mom was a long-time member of the Quaco Historical & Library Society Inc. She took immense pride in accompanying our Dad when he represented St. Martins as the Official town Crier, at weddings, birthdays, community events and traveling around the world on for Town Crier competitions. They were a true team, she wrote his cries, helped him get ready and appeared by his side in period dress.

Mom was the proud recipient of the Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee medals for her extensive community service.

Our mother was a perpetual care giver. Her and Dad were the most caring and compassionate people that provided loving support to family and friends without hesitation. Their home was always open for whatever someone’s needs were, be it a place to live or simply a cup of tea and biscuits.

Along with her children Mom is survived by 14 grandchildren: Jackie (Richard), Scott (Courtneay), Jenna (Justin), Jamie (Vanessa), William (Samantha), Katrina (Tyler), Jani (Jamie), Joseph (Samantha), Jillisa (Cody), Dustin (Beth), Laura (Curtis), Alyson, Stephanie, and Hudson; and 21 great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Izzy, Bryton, Quinn, Ava, Emmett, Jack, Desmond, Fallon, Teddy, Hattie, Ollie, Rhodie, Roland, Isla, Weston, Charlie, Evie, Hallie, Scarlett, and Andie Rose. She is also survived by her cousin Marcia Floyd with whom she shared a sister like bond, sister-in-law, Wanda Brown and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother John, a sister and 2 brothers in infancy, brothers-in-law David (Gay), Hudson (Nellie), Wesley (Ann), and sisters-in-law Lucinda “Cindy” (Sterling) and Evie (Art).

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506) 832-5541, 1063 Main Street, Hampton. Visitation will be held at St. Martins Baptist Church, 211 Main Street, St. Martins. Wednesday, March 25, 2026. 6:00-8:00 pm and Thursday, March 26, 2026, 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Martins Baptist Church on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
