My condolences to all of Phyllis's family and friends in their loss ....I met Phyllis at The Village Nursing Home when her husband & mine were residents there battling the journey of Alzheimer's disease. We became friends who supported one another as we faced the slow & painful loss of the person we once knew ....I last saw Phyllis in August of last year....we met at her lovely home, had lunch at the Family Restaurant in St Martins then enjoyed the Sea Shanty Festival in & around the Amphitheatre on a beautiful summers day. We hugged & said goodbye till next time...there wasn't a next time. I regret being unable to attend her service as I'm out of the country. Farewell Phyllis and thanks for your caring friendship. RIP

Looking back I know how great it was to grow up in a small Village. As children of the MacDonalds, the Westons, the Moran's, the Gillcrests and the Browns, we were always together and they were my extended family. And that was a great Blessing. I was so happy to see Phyllis at the end of October. We talked about many things getting caught up. She was a very special lady and a important person in my life as a child and to many many others. She was not just a neighbor or my Bus Driver, she and Lester were like second Parents. They looked after us. I am grateful to have known her. Rest in peace Phyllis.

Dear Aunt Phyllis, it breaks my heart to know I will never see you again. You had such an ability to meet people where they were. Never judgemental, always so loving and caring. Always making me feel that you were so happy to see me. You and Uncle Lester were the first family to meet Paul and made him feel so welcome. He fell in love with you both immediately. But so did everyone that had the good fortune to know you. You’ll never know how important you were to me and how hard it is to know that you are gone. I am so sorry to hear of Phyllis's passing. I knew her to be a person of great integrity, with a sincere heart for the ambulance service and her community as a whole. She reached out to me 20-ish years ago looking for a paramedic educator and I was happy to oblige her, coming to St. Martin's several times to help her crew prepare for the changes that were taking place at the time. She hosted me in her home for several meals, including her delicious homemade pies. She cherished her husband and spoke of him, her children and grand children on every occasion we met. To her family, my deepest condolences for your loss. I look forward to the day we will see her again.

Sending my deepest condolences to the family and our community. Phyllis was one of the first in St Martins to welcome us to her beautiful community when we moved in 2020. Through the Old Home Week committee, Bingo at the legion, Chamber meetings and making sandwiches at the Church for funerals...she made me feel welcomed and at Home in our new community. Sending much love Elaine and Jamie Shannon

Dear family.
I was so sorry to hear of Phyllis’s passing. She truly lived a life defined by warmth, kindness, and deep connection to her community.
My very first memory of her has always stayed with me. I was still living in Ottawa when I called the St. Martins post office to ask if my mail for my new address could be held until my family were ready to move to the village. I expected a simple, business-like conversation, but instead, Phyllis welcomed me with such genuine warmth. She made me feel not just like a new resident, but like I already belonged.
I also remember so fondly her devotion to her family. Being neighbours with her mother, Mildred, I saw firsthand the care and love she gave so freely. Mildred’s visits up from the beach, always with her beautiful dahlias, are memories I treasure, and it was clear how much that same spirit of generosity and kindness flowed through Phyllis and into her children and grandchildren.
Even after I moved away, every visit back to the village included a walk down Snow’s Lane, hoping to see her. And without fail, she would come out, and we’d share a lovely chat. She had a way of making people feel seen and welcomed, no matter how much time had passed.
Thinking of you all and sending my heartfelt condolences.
Mary

Phyllis and I worked on many committees together and shared lots of laughs as "like minded"cousins. I will miss her. John and I send our deep felt condolences and want the family to know that she will always be part of your life story in the years ahead. Love and hugs. ❤️
