Obituary of Harold Allen Miner
It is with broken hearts that the family of Harold Allen Miner announce his peaceful passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 20th, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Upper Blackville, NB on September 16, 1951, Harold was the beloved son of the late Hawlsey and Mary (Stewart) Miner.
He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his loving wife of 26 years, Dawn (Moore) Miner. They were a true example of what a great partnership should be. Always up for new adventures together whether it be camping, travelling to a warm destination, football games or drives on the Harley. Harold was thankful every day for Dawn’s love and took great pride in the life they built together. Family was always Harold’s first priority.
Harold also leaves behind his girls that he never left any doubt of how proud of them that he was: Charity (Serge), Candice and Courtney (Jason). He also leaves behind his 6 precious grandchildren who were the light of his life: Mckenzie ‘Boo Boo’, Chase, Riley, Finn, Sully and Beau. He could often be found on a football field or school event being one of their biggest fans. One can also not forget his two fur babies, Maple and Scrappy.
In addition, Harold is survived by his sisters, Verna Harris and Bonnie Miner as well as his brothers David (Emily) Miner and Kevin (Rose) Miner, special niece Nicole Rayner, sister-in-law Liz Starkey, brother-in-law Gary (Liette) Moore as well as many nieces and nephews and the Curtis family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Audrey, brother Stephen (sister-in- law Sheila), brother-in-law Jack Harris and the mother of his girls Charity and Candice, Janice Miner.
Throughout his life Harold had made many friends and acquaintances. To know him was to love him and to feel his love in return. He was a jack of all trades and gave his time generously to those who needed help. Harold was unique because there wasn’t much he couldn’t do, among his many talents were: baking (many requests), wood working, fixing cars, carpentry, tinkering as well as forever learning and teaching new skills (ie, taking up piano lessons after retirement). We cannot ignore the fact that he gave the BEST hugs!
Harold worked for 37 years at NBTel/Aliant both in the Miramichi and Saint John before enjoying nearly 15 years of retirement. Harold spent many hours volunteering for such things as the Hampton Curling Club and St. John Ambulance. A devoted follower of Christ and proud member and lay reader of St. Peter’s Anglican church in Upham.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Upham, NB. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at the WI Hall for a time of stories, memories and refreshments. A private family interment will take place in the spring at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery.
