Obituary of Joseph McKenna
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joseph R. McKenna of Hampton, NB, on December 10, 2025 at Loch Lomond Village in Saint John, NB. Joseph will be forever missed by his loving wife Nicole Duguay-McKenna.
Joseph will also be missed by his three children, Patrick (Amanda), Penny, Kara (Eugene); five grandchildren: Ellie, Callie, Emmie, Eli, Clare; three stepchildren: Curtis, Sarah and Jessica and known as Pa Joe to his three step grandchildren: Dylan, Dexter and Griffin; two sisters: Anne Hanlon and Cathy Anderson along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his brother-in-law Greg Anderson.
Born in Saint John, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and June McKenna. He spent his formative years in Erbs Cove where he continued to live for 60 plus years before moving to Hampton with his wife, Nicole, in 2018.
Joseph graduated from Hampton High School. He had a long and fulfilling career at NBTel/Bell Aliant, beginning as a linesman and retiring as a Project Manager.
Growing up on the family farm in Erbs Cove, as a young adult Joseph was always up for an adventure, whether it be snowmobiling, skating, water skiing, boating or just being outdoors.
Joseph always had a true appreciation for the woods and loved to spend time at "The Lodge" he built at the top of McKenna Mountain - a place of peace, pride and countless good moments shared with the people he loved.
Those who knew Joseph knew he was happiest with something to fix, build, or tinker with. He had a natural gift for understanding how things worked, and an even greater gift for helping others without hesitation.
Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
“My heartfelt thanks to the staff of Cedar House for your outstanding care and genuine compassion you showed Joseph (aka Joe / JoJo). I will be forever truly grateful”…. Nicole
