Obituary of Lorne Everett Kilpatrick
It is with great sadness that the family of Lorne Everett Kilpatrick announce his passing which occurred on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, NB. Born in Nauwigewauk, NB, on March 30, 1936, he was the son of the late Theodore and Helen (Fraser) Kilpatrick.
Lorne began his career with the Canadian Armed Forces where he entered into an electrical trade. While in the Airforce, he enjoyed spending his time playing soccer and boxing.
He later went onto Lantic Sugar Limited for 42 years. During his time at Lantic Sugar, he made many good friends. Outside of work, he enjoyed many years in his hometown of Renforth with the Kennebecasis rowing club. In 1972 Lorne was on the first crew back on the river. He then went onto coaching for the club. After his retirement, he spent many good years at his family farm where he enjoyed blue berry farming and working in the woods. He spent much treasured time with his brothers and friends at the Sanford and Sons Silver Hill hunting camp. His most enjoyable moments were those spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lorne is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara Kilpatrick of Rothesay, NB; children: Susan Koval (William) of Quispamsis, NB, Richard Kilpatrick (Juliette) of Quispamsis, NB and Jeffrey Kilpatrick (Terry) of Rothesay, NB; grandchildren: Stephen Koval (Ariel), Brian Koval (Megan), Rebecca Koval (Nathan), Tom Koval (Alicia), Graeme Kilpatrick (Shantel), Ethan Kilpatrick (Maria) and Evan Kilpatrick (Caroline); great grandchildren: Finn and Wyatt; brothers: Warren Kilpatrick (Elaine), Larry Kilpatrick (Eloise), Steve Kilpatrick (Georgie), Brian Kilpatrick (Ruth) and Bruce Kilpatrick (Karen); sisters: Eleanor Hopper Kilpatrick, Virginia Dee Carreau (Paul) and Carol Fox; sister-in-law Doreen Kilpatrick; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lorne was predeceased by his brothers Eddie and John Kilpatrick (Carol).
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB and will be held privately.
