Obituary of Andy Haines
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John Andrew (Andy) Haines of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on April 15, 2025, after a period of failing health. He was born in Nova Scotia on June 20, 1950, the son of Miriam Irene (McMillan) Haines and the late Harold Haines.
Andy’s formative years were in Fredericton, from there his working careers as a salesman took him all across Canada from Ontario to the Prairies finally settling in Saskatoon.
Andy had a great love for the outdoors and spent many hours fishing and hunting whenever and wherever he had the opportunity. He was an avid reader and during his years of failing health, he found these adventures in books.
Andrew is survived by the mother of his children Diane (Shaver) Haines; son Chris (Ceilidh) Haines, daughter Jennifer (Jeff) Marusyk; grandchildren Mya and Brooke Haines and Dylan and Violet Marusyk all of Winnipeg, Man. In addition he was survived by his mother, Miriam (McMillan) Haines of Hampton, NB; sisters Pam (Ron) Breau of Fredericton,NB, Susan (Brian) Walsh of Hampton, NB, Rhoda (Tom) O’Malley of Saskatoon, SK; Uncle Bliss (Doreen) Haines of Fredericton, NB, and Aunt Pearl (Bill) Currie of Oakville, ON; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. At the request of the family there will be no visitation, and a private family interment and celebration of life will take place at a later date.
