Obituary of Linda "Peanie" Comeau

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Linda “Peanie” (Dempster) Comeau, who left this world peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in Fredericton, NB. Linda was born April 5, 1958, a daughter of the late Clifford and Doreen (Coates) Beechin. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, wit, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.

She leaves behind her beautiful three children, Michael Dempster, Dianne Dempster, and Amy Dempster, who were her proudest accomplishments. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Elaine (Joseph) Leger, Debbie McKee, and Kevin Beechin, who stood by her side through all of life’s joys and challenges. Peanie was a devoted aunt to several nieces and nephews, and a loving great-aunt to many more. Her bond with them was one of laughter and kindness. She also shared a deep connection with her close sister-in-law, Linda Dempster, who remained a steadfast presence in her life.

Besides her parents, Peanie was predeceased by her dear brother David Beechin.

Peanie had a remarkable sense of humour, often lighting up a room with her infectious laugh and witty jokes.  Her presence brought joy to those around her.

A lifelong lover of animals, Peanie had a special place in her heart for cats. Her home was always a haven for furry companions, and her compassionate spirit extended to all creatures, great and small. This also included her latest best friend, her cat, Miss Biscuit, who was by her side until her last moments.

Beyond her love for animals and her incredible sense of humour, Peanie will be remembered for her big heart, her fierce energy, and her ability to push through life's challenges. She faced life’s hardships with quiet strength and met every moment with grace, humour, and resilience.

Though she is no longer with us in body, Peanie’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Her laughter, love, and legacy will never be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where the visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24th from 12 to 2pm with the funeral service following at 2:00pm. A private family interment will take place at Hampton Rural Cemetery, Hampton, NB.
