Obituary of Doris Mae Oliver
After a life well lived, Doris Mae Oliver passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John, NB, on January 31, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John and Isabel (Grant) Oliver.
In her younger years, Doris loved to bowl and play softball. Doris had a long career of over 45 years which she enjoyed at Woolworths. She spent many happy years living in Hampton where she spent many hours gardening and always had her yard looking beautiful. She loved to spend time and socializing with her many many special friends. Doris was thoughtful and caring and loved to have a good laugh; she will be missed by all.
Doris is survived by her brother Burt Oliver (Margie) of Saint John, NB; sister-in-law Margaret Oliver; as well as many nieces, nephews and their children that were very special to her. Doris will be missed by all her many friends, especially her lifelong best friend Rose Linton.
In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her brothers: Willie (Jean), Arthur (Shirley) and George Oliver; and sisters: Edna Galbraith (Louie), Betty Thompson (Manford) and Marion Leather.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dickson, Dr. Grant as well as all the staff of Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Your kindness and compassion shown towards Doris will not be forgotten. Also, a sincere thank you to Doris’ special friends at Ossekeag Place in Hampton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where all services will be held privately. A private family interment will be held at Fern Hill Cemetery, Saint John, NB.
