We are so very sorry to hear about Doris. She was my first boss as a high school student in the 60s. I have wonderful memories of those days. Lots of good times with Doris when she came to visit Rose. She was always the same. Loved her pink squares. She will be missed by so many. Chris and Glen Johnson.

We fondly remember Doris coming to the Save-Easy to purchase 50 lb. bags of carrots to feed her beloved deer in her back garden until they started eating her tulips. Doris spoke of her days bowling at St. Peter’s on Douglas Ave. She was always in good spirits and easy to laugh and joke with any time. Just a lovely person.

It was with great sadness my sister, Linda (Webb) Camphausen and myself, Kim Webb-Simpson, treated the news of the passing of a women who played such a great part in our lives. We cannot remember a time when she was not there. She was an admirable friend of our Aunt Marion, a vibrant personality always readily contributing to our family reunions, who enjoyed a good laugh and joined in our joy and sadness in egual measure. She so loved Linda and I, and we loved her in return, her gardens, friends and family. Her loss has truly ended a generation of much loved Aunts and Uncles. I shall miss her always, her stubbornness, her strength, her unconditional love, her laughter, the stories of her deer trying to follow her into the garage for food in the winter and her irritation at the deer for eating all her tulips and daffodils. Doris, my Aunt Doe, will be missed always. My deeply felt condolences for the loss of such a magnificent being are expressed to you all. Love Kim

To the family of Doris Oliver whom she loved so very much, thanks for letting me spend a few hours with her on the day of her passing. She was happy I was there holding her hand at times as She spoke and I wrote.
Doris was a wonderful lady , kind and generous to her friends at Ossekeag Place. She was gardener number 1 to me. She finally got her Gnome house built with the help of Jim Hebb. If anything in the garden needed to be done that we gardeners found hard to do around our large property , she would say “Call Jim.” The three of us gardeners are going to miss her knowledge of gardening.
Doris loved when my grandson would go upstairs and visit her. He was about 8 or 9 then. He would tell her lots of crazy stories. She became a very special friend to me. I will miss her very greatly.
Bless you , Doris , Rest In Peace !

So sorry to hear of Doris's passing. My Mom Gerry Logan who passed in 2021, worked with Doris at Woolworth's and always had stories about their work together. I think Doris was the head cashier and was her boss but to listen to Mom talk everyone respected Doris and loved working for her. She was always kind to everyone. Rest in Peace Doris.

On behalf of the residents of Ossekeag Place, I wish to send sincere sympathy to all of Doris's family and to her special friend Rose. She was a great friend to many of us here. She loved to garden and the back of the building was a delight to all who saw it. She had definite ideas for the placement of the plants and she was delighted, with the help of Jim Hebb, to have her gnome house for several years. She was a card player with several of the residents and she played a great game of washer toss. When we had our communal meals she was sure to make something delicious. She will be missed greatly. We were so saddened to learn that Doris has passed. Doris and Marion were our neighbours for 22 years. She was like another grandmother to our 2 boys. I was just in to see her last week and certainly didn't see this coming. Deepest condolences to her family and friends. Heaven has gained a true angel.
