Obituary of Vince Hill

It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Vincent LeRoy Hill announce his passing which occurred on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Saint John, NB.  Born in Saint John, NB, on September 13, 1944, he was the son of the late Merritt and Glendora (Beyea) Hill.

Vince was a single devoted parent, a father who loved his children unconditionally. He was a responsible, caring, loving provider.  He worked hard to ensure that they never went without.

Vince was perhaps best known for his love of Toyota Trucks. He beamed with pride as he chugged along in either his 1987 Red truck or later his 1988 White truck. He very much enjoyed the attention they drew and the many compliments and conversations with passersby about their uniqueness.

He enjoyed Hunting, Snowmobiling, Four Wheeling and his many trips to Florida. There were also great times spent at Jim’s camp in Allendale with his brother Eugene & friends.

Having worked many jobs over the years providing for his family.  He retired after 30 years of service with the Boilermakers Local 73, as a welder.  He went on to work with his son in his garage, where his welding talents continued to shine as he did all jobs big or small for customers, family, neighbors and friends. His later interests included Model Trains, Diecast Trucks & John Deere Tractors.  His collections were vast and he was very proud to show these off to anyone who stopped by.

Vince is survived by his children: Robert Hill of Kingston, NB, and Wanda Moran (Gary) of Hampton, NB and their family, Amy Curnew (Joe), Jamie Moran (Chrissy), Beth Hutchinson (Bill) and families; brothers: Eugene Hill (Becky) of Woodstock, NB and Wayne Hill of Saint John, NB.  As well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Sterling & Benjamin Hill; sisters: Evva Urquhart, Florence Carpenter and Alberta Hill.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lynne Williams, Heather Duncan and Janet Phippen for all the love and care given to Vince while he was home.  As well we would like to extend a sincere & heartfelt thank you to Dr. Wilson, Dr. Hanson, Lynda Parks-Healey and the entire staff of the St. Joseph’s Hospital CAM Unit on the 5th Floor. Your kindness and compassion shown to Vince and his family will not be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where a visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 2:00pm.
