David and the entire Brown Family,
So sorry for your loss. Reading through the obituary I see he had a full rich and active life with children, grand children, great
grandchildren and his work years. You all should be very proud.
I remember the early 60's tuning into the Captain Corky show every day. It was a big deal back then. They once had a contest to win a CCM bicycle, sponsored by Crino powdered milk ( remember that). Any way, I won the bike and my sister and I went on the show to have it presented. What a day. My eyes came up to the crossbar at that time, but rode that bike for 20 years. Throughout the years I often thought of Captain Corky and those days. I can still hum the theme song. Ahoy Mate!
Please accept our condolences on you loss.

When I think of George, one word comes to mind - strength.
Strength in character. Strength in body. Strength in mind. And strength in his love for God and his Saviour Jesus.
Matthew 10:31-33 NLT
[31] So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. [32] “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. [33] But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.
https://bible.com/bible/116/mat.10.31-33.NLT
I can't count the times that George confessed Christ to me and others.
I will miss him, but I look forward to the day when we reunite in God's presence for eternity.

George was truly the last of the early employees of CHSJ-TV, originally on Church Street and eventually moving to our new studio on the corner of Crown and Union Streets. I cannot remember a time that George did not have a smile or laugh to share. He was an experienced employee in all phases of the television operation, and ended his employ at CHSJ-TV as Studio Manager. Oh the laughs and great times we all shared working in probably the best of times. My memories of George will always be remembered as top of the list. Condolences and prayers are with Ellen and Family. RIP old friend.

Sending strength & hugs. Wonderful write up of an incredible man. Was a joy to have met George & Ellen. Many photos in the video I can hear his laugh so clearly. Indeed a true gem & gift to have met him during the sale of the log home he built and down sizing to the mini home with his vision of that new garage…..truly enjoyed many stories he told.
