Obituary of Ellen Jenkins

It is with great sadness that the family of Ellen Faye Jenkins announce her passing at her home in Kingston NB. With two small breaths her heart gave way from her pain and suffering; she was gone, whisked off into eternity to be with her Lord and Savior.

Ellen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter-in-law and friend. Roles in which she exceeded in filling with joy, encouragement, scripture, and of course, sports knowledge.

Ellen knew many seasons of life and her strength, faith, and love through all of them was very evident. Before her disability Ellen was very athletic, playing many sports and excelling in them all, a trait which she passed on through generations of kids and grandkids. Furthermore, her hard work and dedication was apparent as she fulfilled the role of Therapeutic Recreationist at Ridgewood Veterans Wing in Saint John NB. Her admiration for the soldiers that gave their lives and her support for those who survived was far-reaching and continuous, "lest we never forget".

Despite her disability and pain Ellen selflessly used her gifts from God to comfort others whether it was with a coffee date, a family meal where everyone was welcome, one of her beloved handmade cards, or just a hug. God and family came first, and she made her family strong with her deep faith and love. She also encompassed that with all the planning that went into many family adventures, travels, and camping trips, even when the grandkids came along, she just added another campsite. Her once desire to hike around became rides with the grandkids on her mobility scooter.

Ellen loved life and was deeply thankful for the blessings God gave her. The title of grandma was one in which she took great pride in, she enjoyed and loved her grandkids: Elijah, Benjamin, Lily, Garrett, Luke, Norman, and including Clara and Blake whom she loved and considered grandkids.

For a short period of time until they meet again in heaven, she will be deeply missed by her husband Mark, their son Aaron Jenkins (Amanda), Krista Griffin (Corey) and Molly Pevlin (Gary) all of Kingston, NB. She is also survived by her brothers Kevin Clarke (Leona) of Winnipeg, MB, Leslie Clarke (Kathy) of Maple Ridge, BC, Harold Clarke (Judy) of Fredericton, NB, sister Krista Sobey (Dean) of Miramichi, NB. She also leaves to mourn her Aunt Patricia “Patsy” Clarke, Aunt Louise Smith, Aunt Marion Smith, and Uncle Ken Floyd; mother-in-law Bonnie Jenkins of Kingston, NB; sisters-in-law: Linda Anderson of Olds, AB, Donna Clark of Saint John, NB, Lisa Legault (Paul) of Middleton, NS, Shayne Wipf (Willy) of Olds, AB; brothers-in-law: Danny Jenkins (Linda) of Kingston, NB, Mike Jenkins (Charis) of Kingston, NB, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Norman and Melva Clarke (Smith), father-in-law Donald Jenkins and brother-in-law Glen Anderson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
