Carol Tays

Obituary of Carol Tays

It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Louise Tays announce her death which occurred on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the Dr V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton, NB. Born in Saint John, NB, on August 3, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Isabelle (Smith) Tait.

Carol was a hardworking, witty woman who shared a love for gardening with her husband Jack. She was someone who loved, whether it was her “Jacky Poo”, her family, an animal, or someone in need. She made amazing treats and loved to knit and crochet and pass along those creations. No one ever left hungry with Carol around. She was a Red Cross teaching homemaker and also worked at Webster’s Special Care home. She was natural at caring for others, and she will be missed.

Carol is survived by her loving husband John “Jack” Tays of Passekeag, NB; children: Charlene Tays, Stephen Tays, and Elaine Tays all of Passekeag, NB; grandchildren: Russell, Barbara, Jennifer, Gerald, Matthew, Pam, Trevor and Melissa; 13 great grandchildren brothers: Delbert Tait (Maria) of Hampton, NB, Clifford Tait (Colleen) of Smithtown, NB, Bruce Tait of Hampton, NB; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her son Richard Tays and daughter Shirley Dawn Tays.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. There will be a graveside service in the spring at Christ Church Cemetery, Bloomfield, NB.
