Bob Sheppard

Obituary of Bob Sheppard

It is with sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Carl Sheppard which occurred on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Kingsway Care Centre, Quispamsis, NB. Bob was born in Saint John, NB, on April 29, 1939, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Anna (Veres) Sheppard.

Bob had fond memories of working at the Old General Hospital and Centracare and met many long-time friends. Bob later retired from the Sussex Hospital where he worked in the stores department. When not working, Bob loved golfing and was a member of both Sussex and Hampton golf clubs throughout the years.  In retirement, he would often be found sitting reading a book or doing a crossword puzzle and following the sun from the front deck to the back deck.

Bob met Beverley late in life and she brought with her two young children that he embraced as his own from the beginning. After their marriage in 1987, he and Beverley lived the life he dreamed of.  They would travel with their friends Ellen and Dow to Florida and stay for weeks at a time, soaking up the sun and wandering the beach collecting sharks' teeth. Bob loved family gatherings and being around his cherished grandchildren. He made weekly trips to Value Village to scour the racks for deals often times bringing home gifts for the grand-kids. Bob always had a funny story, joke, or song to entertain you with.  Anyone who knew Bob would agree he had a huge heart and was kind to everyone. The last few years of his life, Bob felt at home at Kingsway Care Center where he was loved like family. Bob’s family will always be thankful for the unequalled care and love from the staff and volunteers at KWCC.

Bob is survived by his children: Natasha Burnett-Breau (Kevin) of Springfield, NB and Jonathan Burnett (Olivia) of Hampton, NB; grandchildren: Madison Breau (Jordan), Lauren Breau (Nick), Jonah Burnett and Jack Burnett; and sister Paulette Riley (Randy) of Vancouver, BC. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Beverley Sheppard and sister Pat MacPherson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. A private memorial service will be held by the family.
