Obituary of Shawn Long

***Shawn's interment will take place Saturday, June 14th at 1:00PM at the Big Rock Cemetery. All are invited.***

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Shawn Robert Long which occurred on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Dr V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton, NB. Born in Saint John, NB, on June 23, 1980, he was the son of Douglas and Julie (Dempster) Long of Bloomfield, NB.

Besides his parents, Shawn is survived by his brothers: Jason Long (Angela) of Douglas Harbour, NB, Michael Long (Kimberly) of Bloomfield, NB, Peter Long (Shera Scott) of Bloomfield, NB, Michael Masson of Saint John, NB and sister Angela Pinette (Peter) of Walton, NS and his son Hudson Long; as well as many extended family members. Shawn was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Silas and Freda Long and his maternal grandparents, Hanford and Mary Dempster.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where the visitation will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with the funeral service following at 1:00pm. Donations in memory of Shawn can be made to the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre, the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation or the memorial of the donor’s choice.
