Betty was a wonderful woman that touched so many lives. I had the pleasure and joy of being her vet for almost 30 years. She was so dedicated to her cats. She will be missed. Our thoughts are with her family.

Dear Peter and Bruce, I have many fond memories of your mother (and father) although only having met her on three occasions. She was a warm, loving, and engaging woman. With a smile, two memories in particular come to mind. First, I remember in Vancouver walking, Peter and his mother with a quick hurried pace farther and farther ahead of Walter and myself taking our walk at a more leisurely pace. Peter must have inherited his rapid gait from his mother. Another memory, in New Brunswick, at the acreage, birds a chirping, the smell of fresh baked bread, when I was there visiting Peter in 1995. Before or after breakfast, I remember Betty’s sense of humour, I still see her clearly now sneaking up slowly behind Peter and surprising him with “boo!”. She had such a big, beautiful smile and made us all laugh (except Peter).

My deepest sympathies to Betty's family. She was such a lovely person. I have fond memories of her, through our church. Singing in the choir at Christmas time, singing 'Come on Ring those Bells' & Betty always brought her bear bells that she used for her hikes out west. I loved all of her stories. Sending sincere sympathy to Betty’s wonderful family. I was blessed to spend time with this amazing woman during the years she was active with the Kennebecasis Naturalist Society. Walter and Betty hosted our club at their peninsula home several times, and travelled quite a distance to attend the monthly meetings in Sussex and other events. We have many pictures of both Betty and Walter in our clubs photo albums. Even though Betty has not been able to be active the past few years, she certainly remained interested in what was happening! She will be missed the most by you, her family, but also by so many friends near and far. She will never be forgotten!!

My sincere condolences to Bruce, Sarah, Peter and her extended family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her both here and across Canada. I got to spend many hours with Betty. I learned so much about wildlife and in particular about birds from her. I loved hearing so many of her stories from her younger years and her wry but gentle humour! Betty is now at peace and free from pain. As they say in Ireland 'Slan abhaile' ...safe home, Betty.
